As we get closer to the next James Bond movie, talks about the upcoming 007 canon bust continue. Recently, we noticed that the odds for Bond Girl from Bond 26 continue to favor actor Sydney Sweeney, with many streaming superstars also competing.
So, of course, I’m curious whether Loki star Sophia Di Martino should be considered a candidate. However, when I asked him about it at a recent Loki Season 2 press day, he had an even bigger idea. Speaking to CinemaBlend, Sophia provided the following comments:
I’d love to play a spy. I don’t know what a Bond woman looks like, but I’d love to play a spy, that’s for sure. A small pistol, a slightly pointed suit. Yes. I like all that. I put a lot of effort into telling this podcast. Some stories are surely fascinating. . . like Bletchley Park and all that.
“This podcast” is a name that should undoubtedly allow Sophia Di Martino to land the spy role of her dreams. As the narrator of Spyscape’s True Spies, Loki’s star is part of a list that also includes Mission: Impossible. actors Hayley Atwell and Vanessa Kirby.
Clearly, the New York-based Spy Museum knows who it goes with when choosing voices for its nonfiction series. What’s also helping Sophia’s spy dreams is that her two-season performance on Loki, which can be streamed with a Disney+ subscription, stars her opposite another seasoned spy.
Since MCU Trickster God Tom Hiddleston is also the protagonist of AMC’s The Night Manager, I noticed him collaborating and clashing with Sophia Di Martino’s variation of his own character. To give the audience another idea of what her own concert might be like, I must say that I am completely fine with Ms. Di Martino getting her own exclusive license to thrill and/or kill.
Ultimately, Sophia Di Martino’s reaction highlighted the desire to be in the ranks of the most productive non-Bond spy movies. While EON Productions’ flagship franchise remains one of the toughest brands in this particular space, several female efforts have attempted to give 007 a run for his money.
If Di Martino believes in such a possibility, you can bet that Sylvie’s unwavering online enthusiasts will be right to bolster this specific accusation. That’s probably a smart thing to do, because Loki’s bittersweet season 2 ending may have been the final curtain for the MCU’s history over its variant.
So if anyone is looking to get the next Heart of Stone or something like The Rhythm Section off the ground, they deserve to ask their reps to reach out to Ms. Di Martino’s folks. Also, be sure to send your most productive tailor, because if there’s something an agent needs in the box, it’s the most productive team for the project ahead.
