MADRID – Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, star of “The Mask of Zorro” and dozens of other films, announced Monday, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and quarantined.
“I would like to upload that I feel relatively well, just a little more tired than the same old and self-assured that I can as soon as possible,” he said in a birthday message on Twitter, uploading that he had reached 60, “full of preference and aspiration.”
Banderas would use his quarantine time to read, write, rest and make plans for the future.
With a career spanning more than a hundred films, Banderas was nominated in the Best Actor category at the last Academy Awards for the lead role in the autobiographical film “Pain and Glory” by Pedro Almodovar (Reporting by Nathan Allen and Andrei Khalip edited through Ingrid Melander and Gareth Jones)
