Of the 11 films premiered at the festival, some performed well, while others failed to meet the producers’ expectations.
Three films have been removed from the Eid run at the country’s first multiplex, Star Cineplex. On the 3rd and 5th of Eid-ul-Fitr respectively, Kazi Hayat’s film “Green Card” and Chotku Ahmed’s government-subsidized film “Ahare Jibon” will be screened. They were removed. However, the films are still shown in Lion cinemas.
Director Fuad Chowdhury’s “Meghna Konnya” is a film retired from the multiplex. The film stars Qazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shatabdi Wadud, Samonty Das Shoumi, and Sajjad Hossain, among others.
According to Star Cineplex partners, the films would not be able to be shown in movie theaters.
Many other people interested in the film industry have voiced their criticisms about the release of Eid films. Some have argued that releasing 11 Eid movies wasn’t a smart resolution at all. It was a bad business decision to release more than 4 Eid films. Some have also criticized the release of three films starring Sariful Razz Eid, saying it would have been better for audiences if only one of his films had premiered at the festival.
