Call it franchise fatigue, poor writing, an inept showroom, or any other excuse you can pinn to the terrible bad ratings of Star Trek: Lower Decks, which you can’t hide the fact that the series is a failure. No other people shouting “You can’t just judge him in one episode!” it will replace the fact that fans, and even critics, place this screen wrong.
To be clear, if you like it, that’s fine. No one’s looking to take your pleasure.
The facts are that probably the other people who protect him do so because they can’t admit that their fandom has disappointed them. Anyone who’s a big fan of an asset has to admit it someday, because it happens. It’s inevitable. So ask yourself this; Do you really like it or are you just looking not to agree with those who don’t?
The screen is suffering everywhere. Let’s start with Rotten Tomatoes scores. Today, many more people accept as true fan scores, as most critics seem to need the same properties, while enthusiasts come from all areas. So, for Rotten Tomatoes, let’s take a look at the average score of “professional” and enthusiastic reviews.
Star Trek: Discovery scored a suspected critical score of 81%, with a fan rating of 42%, for an average of 61.5%. Picard achieved a critical score of 87% and a 57% fan score for an average of 6nine%. Enterprise has a 57% critical score, but a smart score of 77%. That’s an average of 67%. Voyager received 77% reviews and 74% enthusiasts for an average of 75.5%. The original series received 80% reviews and 88% enthusiasts for an average of 84%. Deep Space Nine scored 9% and a fan rating of 86% for an 88% average. Finally, the next generation was given a critical and fan score of 8nine%, which is also their average average.
As for its animated cousin, Star Trek: The Animated Series? Rotten Tomatoes reviews give it 94% and enthusiasts give it 80% for 84%.
Lower Decks grossed only 66% on the critical aspect of things and 35% in the fan aspect for an average of 50.5%. When even the most favorable reviews navigate the series, you know you’re fucked.
Let’s take a look at IMDB, a potentially more accurate review site. Unlike Rotten Tomatoes’ score of one percent, IMDB does so with 100 star ratings. Discovery has a 7.3, Enterprise has a 7.5, Picard a 7.6, Voyager a 7.8, DS9 a 7.9, the original series has an 8.3 and The Next Generation has an 8.6 (the Orville has an 8.0). The animated series received a 7.5
Ratings now vary and reviews change, but comedy is pretty definite. Either it’s funny or it’s not, and the biggest problem you can give a comedy is that it’s not funny. It’s the show’s recurring condemnation, which is simply not funny.
It’s a universal phenomenon and it’s not a strong sign of anything. You don’t need to have more screen views to know that’s not what other people want. It’s going to be pretty much the same thing. So, if you like the series, like the first season. Still, it turns out that top enthusiasts aren’t interested and this isn’t very ambitious for a moment the season.
