Strictly Come Dancing is one of the biggest TV shows, but do celebrities get paid to be a part of it?
Unlike other reality shows, such as I Am a Celebrity, each star who is introduced to Strictly receives the same lump sum to appear and not negotiate with the producers.
According to a 2021 report by The Sun, celebrities receive £25,000 just for showing up.
As it turns out, there’s more incentive to stay at the festival until the end: not only can you win the honour of winning the Glitterball Trophy, but the payout would increase to £40,000 if you make it by the end of October.
Last year’s last finalists – DJ Fleur East, presenter Helen Skelton, EastEnders star Molly Rainford and eventual winner Hamza Yassin – reportedly won £60,000 to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Competitors would win an additional £15,000 if they succeed in the semi-finals (earning them £75,000 in total), and the overall winner would win £100,000.

On Saturday, September 9, it was reported that one of the pros had been ignored from the new series.
They were reportedly “devastated” when they learned they wouldn’t be paired with a featured competitor, meaning they wouldn’t be competing.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return to host the 21st series of Strictly, which will feature stars such as veteran broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy, TV star Zara McDermott and arguable Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington.
