“Tenet” to make progress in the United States from August 31

Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” will air in some locations starting Monday, August 31, for 3 nights, according to a report through the Chicago Tribune and some other sources, before its release on September 3. The article also showed that the Music Box Theatre in Chicago will play the film in 70mm for its commitment. This theater is one of five North American cinemas that showcase “Once Upon a… Hollywood” in 70 mm.

The August 31 debut would mean that some American audiences could start watching the film a few days after its initial release date abroad, Wednesday, August 26. Warner Bros. responded to the calls asking for comment. While Nolan has made it clear that he prefers large-format displays like 70mm and IMAX, Warner would face a complicated environment even without formatting restrictions.

The Music Box website, which refers to the Tribune article, does not promote “Tenet” entries. However, it sells tickets for “Inception” in 70 mm. Advance tickets for the openings of 26 August have been released in the UK and elsewhere.
