The skies are not only melting, they are like an ancient monster in search of revenge. It’s raining hard, so it’s more productive to take popcorn and pakodas and soothe your soul with blood, blood and revenge stories. Let’s get the rain to work, okay?
Just when we drown (or at least soak our boots), there’s a drought in California and they’re doing everything they can to pray for the rain. It’s a film that has murders, journalism, conspiracies, water wars, oil and of course environmentalists. That’s the premise that’s as strange as possible, but it’s worth all the melodrama when you can see Jane Seymour with a shotgun.
With Tina Turner singing, “I can’t stand the rain!”, you’re lazily looking for the word “Rain” on Netflix. I still hope that Amazon Prime Video one day correctly writes your search robot. And it looks like an attractive combination, from the newly danish series called Rain (predictability will cause a thousand yawns) to documentaries about the drought. Once you’re looking for a rabbithole, you come across gems, and so do I. Keeping the Pray For Rain theme, i.e. going home, this movie is also a lesson in what you’ll find when you return. . The Spanish film is called The Invisible Guardian.
It’s amazing to see the good looks in the gloom and a mystery that helps keep you nailed to the couch. So keep the coffee device close to the house and stack the chocolate as well. The darkness of this city is connected to its soul and not just over time. It gives you the creeps and you start worrying about your daughters.
Forgive me if I’ve ever talked about this movie, but if you have the means to look for the component of the moment on the net somewhere, you’ll have to see Steel Rain first. Who would have any idea that it would place so much integrity and humor in a South Korean film instead of North Korea? This reinforces my confidence that other people are inherently good and separated through trusted systems designed to help a few. Watch this movie and get visuals making plans for a stopover in Korea as soon as we can travel safely.
However, the studios make the Queen of the South appear without wondering whether “Queen” in Spanish means “rain” or not. It features one of my favorite actors: Katie del Castillo. And when you see it in the trailer, drive a mobike and record at the same time, you won’t be there to watch a soap opera anymore. There are drugs, girls, cartels and a woman who can be a leader.
Director Fernando González Molina is still interested in the darkness that envelops our hearts with the 3rd of the Baztan trilogy. Offering the storm is as attractive as The Invisible Guardian. He helps keep the mystery alive and spice up the city with some really engaging characters. Watch this movie and you’ll see plenty of parallels between this remote city and India’s small towns. The suspense is so well controlled that you must set a reminder on your phone that says, “Breathe!”
From the kidnappings in Baztan to the kidnappings in Korea, there is one thing that is not unusual: the danger of being forgotten. This stunning Korean movie will leave you dizzy and ask if the pause and back button has been designed just so you can get back in shape. It’s a smart little movie buried deep in the treasure trove of Netflix’s Korean films. Forgotten is an essential watch:
In the splendid isolation of this era, this film offers the best cocktail of intrigue and mental drama to keep you from being distracted by the winds that howl in your windows.
Every time there’s a Comic Con, you have to turn off social media because everyone needs you to take sides. Some endless fights between DC and Marvel are notoriously boring, and I don’t need to decide on the Avenger I liked the most. Besides, I didn’t like the TV fact for The Arrow. But when I saw Black Lightning, I enjoyed it.
I’ll have to admit that watching 3 seasons of a superhero exhibition isn’t exactly my cup of tea (I left the exciting Turkish Ertugrul display when I was tired of horses and melodrama). But, I sought to be part of the family circle where Director Pierce knows how to care for cheating scholars without giving in to violence, and has withdrawn from the lives of superheroes. No, it’s not like the Indestructible at all. Aside from the fact that he’s not the same white suburban kid or a rich white technocrat, a black circle of relatives is helping you root for the boy.
When I pause to watch Korean dramas, Chinese action movies, dark European exhibitions and fantasies, I see the gray clouds popping over the city. And, for some reason, I’m forced to go back to Takashi Miike’s art. Your vision will amaze you, the images will amaze you. You will be transported to a time when fencing reigns. You will be surprised that the pacifist in you is not horrified by a blood-soaked vengeance. Let it rain, you might say, Netflix has The Sword of the Immortal.
