Josh Boone says he doesn’t care if The New Mutants gets directly on Disney, whether it’s done on demand, or if its movie premiere is delayed again.

The spin-off X-Men originally scheduled for release in April 2018, but has now been postponed several times for a variety of reasons, adding more footage, selling 20th Century Fox to Disney and COVID -19.

For now, The New Mutants is still scheduled to premiere in theaters on August 28, but America’s inability to handle the COVID-19 pandemic means this is unlikely.

In a recent interview with Comic-Book.com, Boone was asked if he feared that The New Mutants could be broadcast by call or at Disney, which in theaters. But, at this point, Boone just needs the public to see it.

“Well, I mean, I’m not afraid of those things. I just need the maximum of people to see them. And so that anyone who needs to see them can see them.”

“So, obviously, if we can do it in theaters, it’s my first choice. But since Disney came up to me and told me they were going to broadcast it, it would be great. Then everyone can see it. That would be great. “

Boone also revealed that Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox meant that he could not make new shots for The New Mutants, and that he only had to use what they had “turned on set”.

“So the film didn’t radically replace between before the merger and after the merger, it just changed a little bit more. And now it has visual effects that are finished, which were a wonderful thing missing when the fusion was carried out, all this facet was closed. So we could only see visual effects finished this year.”
