The horror genre has a way of making tons of cash and is still a hard force in the entertainment industry. And some of the most productive horror movies are back with new sequels as the horror renaissance continues. Case in point: the sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer. After online discussions, the director of the upcoming horror film has clarified much of the project.
Fans are hungry for facts about the new I Know What You Did movie last summer, especially if Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. will officially give the signal. A rumor circulating online says that the upcoming slasher would completely forget about the film’s sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. The talk was strong enough that director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson shut it down on Twitter, posting:
Surely not? ISKWYDLS is canon ?? Hope this helps https://t. co/paS4GQVN4z31 July 2024
Do you hear that sound? It’s longtime franchise enthusiasts who breathe a sigh of relief. Because I still know that it will not possibly be restored for the next film, allowing this savage bloodbath to influence its story. And it also means that the door may be open. for Brandy to return to reprise her role as Karla, Julie’s schoolmate. Let’s cross our fingers (and knives).
In the 1998 sequel, Brandy played fan-favorite character Karla. Although she had some scares and injuries, she controlled the fisherman’s attack. And it would be wonderful to see the Cinderella actress return to that role as another carryover character from the in-development I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is a self-proclaimed fan of the slasher franchise, so the new installment is in smart hands. And the fact that she’s already ignoring online rumors will no doubt delight the hardcore fandom. She doesn’t hurt Jeff Howard either. to contribute to the script, especially after acclaimed paintings of him in Mike Flanagan projects such as Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House and Gerald’s Game.
While enthusiasts assume Hewitt and Prinze will return for the new I Know What You Did last summer, they haven’t officially signed on the dotted line at the time of writing. But the two ’90s icons seem to be clowning around. around and percentage their enthusiasm for the perspective.
With the remaining canon of I Still Know, Smart Money says fan calls for Brandy’s inclusion will be louder. The iconic pop singer and actress has appeared on our screens several times lately, adding in Descendants: The Rise of Red (which can be streamed with a Disney subscription), the best Christmas movie. Christmas. Never!and an appearance in Ariana Grande’s most recent video (plus an excellent remix with Monica).
The sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer will hit theaters on July 18, 2025, so the progression will most likely pick up soon. In the meantime, check out the release dates for the videos in 2025.
