If you’ve seen a main Japanese Street Fighter tournament in the last five years, Aru’s life-filled voice probably deserves to sound familiar to you, yet his new demo will make sure you never are.
The production point in Aru’s demo video is superior to what he had noticed before, even among leading voice actors, and begins to sound like the opening of Cowboy Bebop or a music video for his poses and the graphics around him.
Heck, for a voice coil, we can’t hear him say anything until 20 seconds after the video starts, however once we do, Aru stores several of his career highlights spanning Capcom. Pro Tour, Topanga League, Red Bull Kumite, EVO and others, while still being so eye-catching. There are even small quotes that only appear on screen for less than a second.
The exaggerated nature of Aru’s video probably doesn’t translate well into popular hiring and business practices, however, these are the esports and FGC we’re talking about here, so it turns out that bringing hype is a component of the job. .
There are definitely some notes for aspiring commentators to take here, I’m not sure I’m proposing to go that hard on production. Either way, it’s still an entertaining watch and a great show of Aru’s talent.
