With normal pantomimes and festive displays cancelled in cinemas across the country this year, plans have been launched in Fife and Pitlochry so that Covid-19, unlike the Grinch, does not borrow Christmas.
The OnFife team, which manages theaters and museums across the kingdom, has partnered with the Pitlochry Festival Theatre to bring the magic of Christmas to their communities.
The glorious Christmas Walk is a delight like never before and will take place from November 27 to December 23 at the Pitlochry Theatre Campus and December 3-20 at Carnegie Hall and Dunfermline Gardens.
The occasion promises to be a unique, bright and magical adventure to remember, suitable for everyone from babies with arms to young people at heart.
It will be in stories, music and surprises in a fully interactive audiovisual adventure to captivate all the senses.
And it has been carefully designed to be a safe, socially distant, comfortable and available delight to all.
When the adventure begins, our favorite Christmas elves have a problem!

In the absence of a Northern Star, how will Santa place his way in each and every gift room this Christmas?
Anywhere, the public will embark on an adventure through those festive friends through the charming buildings and gardens, visiting 3 cheerful and festive places: the magical forest, Santa Claus in Lapland and an area just in time for Wish Upon a Star..

To achieve this live experience, the groups focused on a walking format, indoors and outdoors, giving everyone who feels tired of isolation and months of restriction an opportunity to escape to new theatrical worlds.
The “departures” will take place day and night, in small groups, exploring new spaces during their one-hour adventure.
Visitors can be confident that Covid-19 coverage measures will be implemented, which will add thorough cleaning, a one-way system, small socially remote groups, a hand sanitist for the experiment, and themed personal protective equipment for all staff.
Elizabeth Newman, artistic director of the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, said: “Christmas is an opportunity to unite us; a time to escape and care for others, a time for light, hope and joy.
“We’ve all lost a lot this year, but especially seeing friends, grandparents, going to school, and then, with the cancellation of pantos and Christmas shows, Covid also took the joy and magic of Christmas.
“We were determined, if there was a way imaginable, we wouldn’t let that happen!
“With our smart Friends of OnFife, starting from the point of security and social distance, we imagined and then developed an affordable and available delight for all, financially and physically, which would nevertheless allow us to meet, entertain ourselves, to be excited and look forward.
“Christmas is also a time of magical travel.A moment for gifts and a moment to want a star.And that’s probably what we’re going to give.”

“Working with Pitlochry gave us this opportunity and we are thrilled to offer Christmas Magic at Fife at our Carnegie Hall and Art Deco Gardens.
“This glorious delight is synonymous with quality, family, laughter and protection with enough Christmas brilliance for all, young and old.
“Join us from December 3-20 to travel through the area and time, explore what’s on our 24 Christmas gates and help the elves locate this annoying star…They want your help!”
Tickets for The Magic of Christmas cost 10 euros at Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline and start at just 8 euros in Pitlochry.
