The Most Iconic Disney Channel Characters of All Time, Ranked

Hi, I’m TVLine and you’ve been watching Disney Channel. . . for 40 years!

Tuesday marks a historic anniversary for television’s ultimate magical network, and we celebrate the big 4-0 with a look back at its greatest iconic characters, whether animated or animated.

A quick caveat: Only screen and video characters created in particular for Disney Channel were eligible for inclusion. For example, don’t expect to see a Canadian import like Life With Derek on this list, but rest assured, Derek and Casey would make very sense my hypothetical list of siblings with too much chemistry. Seriously, I haven’t noticed an undeniable warmth like theirs since that famous Folgers ad with the world’s flirtatious brother.

And the most important disclaimer of all: it’s just a person’s private classification. With such a wide variety of characters, from screens and videos, I wouldn’t expect two lists to look the same, even from a distance. And that’s okay! Let’s laugh at that.

Read on to see what 40 characters I considered the maximum iconic, then write a comment with yours below. How many of my possible options would also be on your list and what others would you add?

Played by: Alyson Stoner

Why it’s iconic: You don’t even have to know their call to know that (“Wow!”) It’s smart with the keyboard.

Played by: Leigh-Allyn Baker

Why it’s iconic: Before I leave a comment asking why I’m giving this position to a prominent anti-vaxxer, just know that taking an incredibly public and incredibly dramatic anti-science stance is the most Amy Duncan could have done. It is an action approach. Trust the process.

Played by: Taran Killam

Why it’s iconic: This is more of a feeling than a fact, but I’m sure we’ll never, ever, have to take Killam’s hair off, I mean his role, as a frustrated pop star in this classic DCOM.

Played by: Joshua Rush

Why is he iconic: the first normal gay character on a Disney Channel show?Iconic!

When Ryan of High School Musical heard the news of Cyrus’ release, he probably looked at his wife, who I’m sure he’s very attracted to, and thought, “Good for him. “

Played by: Spencer Redford

Why is it iconic: an A. I. hologram pop star, in the year of our Mouse 2004?Disney Channel was ahead of its time with this one.

Played by: Philip Rhys Chaudhary

Why it’s iconic: Disney Channel has taken us to countless musical idols over the years, but few still make our hearts flutter like this supernova. . . boy.

Played by: defeated Lee Thompson Young

Why it’s emblematic: If you have to ask, direct your request to Beyoncé. If you prove that you are not available, Kelly and Michelle will be happy to take your call.

Played by: Jake Thomas

Why it’s iconic: Even for a younger brother on Disney Channel, Sam and Jo McGuire’s demonic offspring seemed to get a negative emotion from plotting against their older sister. Moreover, the spiky hair made him feel as if he had just been electrocuted. , which only added to the terror. One of the most unspeakable villains of the network.

Played by: The vanquished Debbie Reynolds

Why it’s iconic: You could shout “Queen!” of any number of characters on this list, only one is the former monarch of Halloweentown, and you look at it.

Voiced by: Steven Complete

Why it’s iconic: Does your dog have a blog in the first place?Take multiple seats.

Honestly, the irony of that sample is that Stan’s blog posts were pretty mundane. None were as appealing as the fact that a talking dog made the blog, which he never revealed to the public. A humble king.

Voiced by: Dan Povenmire

Why it’s iconic: The only genuine goal in this mad scientist’s life, besides thwarting his platypus nemesis (more on him later), takes the tri-state area, a project too quick and ridiculous not to applaud.

Played by: Erik von Detten

Why it’s iconic: No list of Disney Channel icons would be complete without von Detten, the very definition of a ’90s woman. Brink couldn’t even get through an undeniable dinner scene without getting burned, as shown here.

Played by: Christy Carlson Romano

Why it’s iconic: If you weren’t already a lesbian before experiencing Romano’s simple discipline, you were next. She can call me a “worm” any day.

Voiced by: Karen Malina White

Why she’s iconic: Hotter than the mustard that gave her her name, Penny’s most productive friend is the kind of woman who will tell (and infrequently scream) like she is, whether you ask her opinion or not.

Voiced by: Christy Carlson Romano

Why she’s iconic: Direct cheerleader during the day, foreign crime fighter later and also on weekends, Kim is great. Even with shipping pants.

No enemy is too difficult to defeat, whether it’s a maniacal supervillain or a jealous high school enemy, who, as we all know, are just as evil, if not more so.

Played by: Brenda Song

Why it’s iconic: Only a small percentage of this exhibit’s young audience likely learned that their favorite heiress, stunning and charming, was a thinly disguised parody of Paris Hilton. Satire, on Disney Channel?Hooray them!

Played by: Selena Gomez

Why she’s iconic: Lazy in virtually every facet of her life, Alex couldn’t even bother to pay attention to her magic classes, but she still won the kin circle wizard contest and was able to retain her powers. .

The recent revelation that Alex is bisexual, though the writers weren’t able to explicitly write it in the series, only reinforces his iconic status.

Played by: Phil Lewis

Why it’s iconic: Crossing the paths of the Martin twins took countless years off this man’s life, but it also provided the audience with countless years of entertainment, so everything balances out.

And we know that his first call is Marion (teehee), he is still an authority figure on land and sea, so you will call him Mr. Moseby out of respect, damn it!

Played by: “Franco”

Why it’s iconic: Not only does this seven-foot lizard taste exquisite for cinema (it’s a Twi-hard!), it’s also post-genre. She let Ross’s circle of relatives call her “Mr. Kipling”. ” for a whole season before surprising them through the hatching of some bathing lizards. Oh, and she plays the piano!

Voiced by: Dee Bradley Baker

Why it’s iconic: I still don’t know precisely what a “platypus” is; as far as I’m concerned, it’s a bigger biological mystery than CatDog, but I do know that this nature-specific monster brings criminals to their knees. with undeniable chatter. And not everyone has the shape of the head to take off this fedora hat.

Played by: Katey Segal

Why it’s iconic: A “smart home” that becomes obsessed with its new circle of relatives, learns to be the best mom (appearing in the form of a holographic Segal), and then turns into a complete banana when said circle of relatives does. Don’t settle for being one of them?

This movie is not a comedy, it’s a warning.

Voiced by: Nancy Cartwright

Why it’s iconic: Most of the animals on Disney Channel are naked, but none enjoy the sheer joy of their naked nudity like Ron Stoppable’s naked mole rat.

Voiced by: Vincent Martella (Phineas) and Thomas Sangster/David Errigo Jr. (Ferb)

Why they’re iconic: These two are pretty much like Jay and Silent Bob from kids’ animated shows. “. For Ferb.

Voiced by: Kari Wahlgren

Why it’s iconic: Every word that comes out of this valley girl’s mouth is priceless, what makes sense, it’s literally a gem. And even if you haven’t had the thrill of meeting her, you’ve probably at least heard her on TikTok. . (“I think you dropped something. . . my jaw”).

Voiced by: Jo Marie Payton

Why she’s iconic: The bold and straightforward matriarch of the Proud kin circle is the grandmother you’ve sought out and the enemy you never need to make. Suga Mama comprises crowds.

Played by: Raini Rodriguez

Why it’s iconic: Sure, Austin had the dance moves of those with health issues and Ally had her writing, but Trish? She did it all. This scammer had a new job every week and went out whenever it didn’t suit her. This is Trish’s world, we all live in it.

Played by: China Anne McClain

Why she’s iconic: As the daughter of mythical sea witch Ursula, she’s arguably one of Disney’s best nepo babies, but Uma has also established her own foot, er, tentacle, in the world of villains. Also, “What’s My Name” is one of the most authentic bops in the DCOM library.

Played by: Kirsten Storms

Why it’s iconic: You have to admit that being the only character on this list who hasn’t technically been born yet, and possibly isn’t for all thirteen, is pretty iconic behavior.

Played by: Steven Anthony Lawrence

Why it’s emblematic: Dear. Madonna. Beans. Sometimes you say it all.

Played by: Shia LaBeouf

Why it’s iconic: On the surface, Louis was just another joke-loving little brother dressed in a Hawaiian shirt. But unlike the ones we enjoy hating, we were rooted in making it succeed. Louis Stevens deserves the world.

Played by: Zac Efron

Why it’s iconic: Arguably Efron is Disney Channel’s most productive export, and the evidence is that we were keen to see him relearn the exact same lesson in 3 other movies. The choreography “Bet On It” is enough to earn Troy a spot on this list.

Played by: Ashley Tisdale

Why it’s iconic: While Troy and Gabriella want Sharpay to be the villain in the High School Musical storyline, the real chefs know that the most talented woman in East High is really the victim, ridiculously sidelined by a couple of green walks after spending years. perfecting his craft.

Here’s the thing, though: they can borrow their papers, and they can even borrow their seat from Juilliard, but it still ended up in New York with Austin Butler, so who had the final say?

Played by: Hilary Duff

Why she’s iconic: She may be a clothing trainer (unforgivable!), but Lizzie is still the best American woman of the fashion era. He gave us a front row seat to revel in every uncomfortable step, and we enjoyed it.

Performed by: Raven-Symoné (Galleria), Adrienne Bailon (Chanel), Kiely Williams (Aquanette) and Sabrina Bryan (Dorinda)

Why they’re iconic: With an endless arsenal of songs and a closet so complete with ads that even Cruella De Vil would say “. . .
