We may all spend a little more time with our families. We have done the honors of rummaging through the catalogue and decided on nine family films that we strongly recommend. This weekend, stack on the couch with your wife and children (and your pets!), put butter on the popcorn and immerse yourself in one of those wonderful videos for all ages.

In the 1930s in New Orleans, Charlie the Dog (Burt Reynolds) and his friend Itchy (Dom DeLuise) escaped the kennel after Charlie’s former spouse, Carface (Vic Tayback), fixed his lockdown. He and his wife push a car towards Charlie, killing the dog. In paradise, Charlie arrives, where an angel informs him that all dogs pass to heaven regardless of their movements in a past life. But Charlie takes his luck too far, deceiving his death with a retarded clock that symbolizes his life. The angel tells Charlie that as long as the clock counts the minutes, Charlie will stay alive on earth. If time runs out, Charlie will go straight to hell. Can Charlie redeem himself before time runs out?
This harvest is presented to us through Don Bluth, a former Disney worker who started his own production company, presenting and broadcasting successful films such as The Secret of NIMH and The Land Before Time. All Dogs to Heaven is a mirrored image of Bluth’s total canon: richly illustrated circle of familiar videos with a little darkness at the edges, but illuminated through animated characters and a series of honest and hopeful messages.

I’m not crying, you cry. Thank you very much Charlotte’s Web. You know how aqueducts work. Based on White’s 1952 E. B. novel, this first film edition of the famous tale was produced through Hanna Barbera Productions and Sagittarius Productions. Our story follows Wilbur, a lovable piglet rescued through Fern Arable. When Wilbur grows too big for normal puppyhood, he is handed over to Fern’s uncle, Homer Zuckerman, where he tries to have compatibility with the other animals in the garden, but to no avail. Eventually, Wilbur catches the eye of a barn spider named Charlotte, who begins posting posts to her online page when she and Wilbur are informed that the pig is being bred for slaughter. Short sentences like “a pig” are Charlotte’s effort to save Wilbur, hoping to convince Zuckerman that Wilbur has something special. For those of you who know the story, you know the bottom line, but we’re going to be this quiet for those of you who don’t know the Wilbur and Charlotte story. The e-book is a classic, just like the movie. In 2006, Charlotte’s Web won a brilliant live-action Hollywood remake with Dakota Fanning as Fern, Dominic Scott Kay as the voice of Wilbur and Julia Roberts as the voice of Charlotte.

Ben, however, brings visions of his dreams to Wolfgang (River Phoenix With the help of a third friend, Darren (Jason Presson), the three children build the circuit board, using the device to create an electromagnetic box around an old Tilt-a-Whirl car they designed for their flying vehicle. the charm of the theme park and the boys fly into the stars in search of extraterrestrial life.
Explorers is a laughing film that was temporarily re-released to cult prestige after its release. According to director Joe Dante, the production was unfortunately due to studio executives and premiered only a week after Back to the Future, the box office hit of the year. But now that the dust has settled, Explorers serves as a small imaginative time capsule, showing the world the tough talents of Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix, and highlighting the incredible visual effects features of Industrial Light and Magic (the VFX Star Wars team).

Co-directed through Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, How to Train Your Dragon is a visually compelling coming-of-age tale and a brilliantly fantastic take on the boy and his subgenre of dogs. Our story follows Hiccup (Jay Baruchel), a shy but intelligent young Viking. Hiccup is under constant attack from fierce dragons and they show no signs of stopping. During one of those fires, Hiccup kills one of the flying beasts. After reuniting with his fallen foe, the Predator is revealed to be a Night Fury, a rare breed of dragon that Hiccup refuses to kill. Instead, he calls him Toothless and builds a prosthesis for one of Fury’s mutilated wings, a device that allows Toothless to fly back (but only with Hiccup wielding the prosthesis). Meanwhile, Harold’s father and village chief, Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), gathers a band of warriors to locate and destroy the main dragon nest. Hiccup realizes the danger his father and his village are in when Toothless takes him and his village friend, Astrid (America Ferrara), to the nest, to locate it requisitioned via a monstrous dragon known as the Red Death. Based on a script by Will Davies, loosely adapted from Cressida Cowell’s 2003 book, How to Train Your Dragon is one of the best in Dreamworks. Rich characters, a captivating story, charming creature design, and plenty of laughs will keep everyone grounded for the dynamic duo that is Hiccup and his new dragon friend, Toothless.

Directed through Tony Leondis, founded on a script by Chris McKenna, Igor is a star-studded animated film that, for once, isn’t Disney or Dreamworks (though we love its production, too). The story follows the headline and awkward hunchback (voiced through John Cusack), who dreams of fitting in a world-renowned evil scientist, but his ambitions are stifled by the authoritarian scientist under whom he is forced to spend his days, Dr. Glickenstein (John Cleese) Fate knocks on Igor’s door when a failed rocket sends Glickenstein skyward, leaving Igor the best chance to hone his insane abilities. Well, it turns out that the aspiring evil genius has a long way to go, because the crazy monster he creates, Eva (Molly Shannon), turns out to be caring and kind. Oh, and she needs to be an actress too. Igor is a playful trio of many vintage horror tropes, imagined through McKenna when Frankenstein turned around. Who’s who of stuntmen brings a wonderful laugh to the role, and the artistic taste and animation are imagined with love and richness.

Will Ferrell is the possessor of Megamind, a blue humanoid supervillain who will in no way prevent taking control of Metro City. The only thing standing in his way is Metro Man (Brad Pitt), the humanoid hero who thwarts Megamind’s misdeeds. One day, Megamind manages to offend Metro Man, leading him to a life of mindless boredom. While sighing for local reporter Roxanne (Tina Fey), Megamind concocts a brilliant plan to create a new superhero, infused with the DNA of the defeated Metro Man. Things don’t go as planned, and Roxanne’s cameraman Hal (Jonah Hill ), receives the superhero’s DNA instead, which matches the almighty “Tighten” (that’s not a flaw). typing). Megamind’s plans for a showdown between Megamind and Tighten are temporarily put aside when Tighten makes the decision that he, too, must be a villain. It’s up to Megamind to take on her new foe while protecting her O. G. villain status. The comedy styles of the entire vocal cast, especially Ferrell and Fay, are electric and irresistible, making Megamind a memorable, unconventional, and fun adventure intertwined with the daily (mostly self-inflicted) tribulations of our blue protagonist.

In The Muppets Take Manhattan, the well-known Fuzzy Team is a promotion of music scholars hungry for their big break. When the team travels to New York City to deliver their Manhattan musical tunes, fortunes darken as the Muppets are chewed through all the great Broadway producers. An emotional series unfolds in which one of the Kermits says goodbye to his Muppet friends as they head out into the world in search of a new assignment for themselves. But Kermit is determined to start his exhibition. With the help of the diner owner Pete and Jenny and their grown-up granddaughter whom Kermit bepapa the frog, despite everything, takes a break when an uncle-nephew production team agrees to take up the rhythm of the musical . As things begin to look up, the expensive Kermit enters oncoming traffic and falls into a spell of amnesia. It is up to Miss Piggy and Kermit’s other friends to verify to bring him back to reality. The Take Manhattan Muppets occasionally feel like a forgotten gem in Muppet canon. The movie is packed with familiar Muppet misdeeds, wonderful history, rich comedy, and more than a handful of musical exhibits. Oh, and did we mention that Kermit is going from being a musical prodigy to being an expert in business promotion?

Directed through Robert Altman, based on a script through Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Jules Feiffer, our story begins With Popeye’s arrival on the cheerful beach in the town of Sweethaven, in search of his father, the sailor rents a room at Oyl’s boarding venue, where he discovers that Oyl’s beloved daughter , Olive (Shelley Duvall), will soon marry the Wonderful and Deranged Brutus (Paul L. Smith), a small-town officer with a penchating for beatings. Popeye shows up at the engagement party, drawing Olive’s attention. This encounter of two iconic cross-star characters triggers a wild chain of events, beginning with the discovery of a desert bath through which Popeye and Olive call Swee’pea, and culminating in a war with a giant octopus. Popeye is a fairly animated film full to the brink of songs, an ntica and enough power to keep the total crculo of relatives on guard.

Rango stars Johnny Depp as the titular chameleon, a separate aquarium animal that accidentally strands in the desert when its owner’s vehicle hits an armadillo called Roadkill (Alfred Molina). With the recommendation of a street iguana called Beans (Fisher Island), Rango is taken to the town of Dirt, a Wild West home populated by anthropomorphic desert creatures. After a fight with a red-tailed falcon, a change of occasion leads Rango to be named dirt’s new sheriff. Soon after, Rango is forced to launch research on the city’s dwindling water source (a tribute to the ancient film Chinathe city), where the chameleon begins to reach the bottom of the sordid abdomen of the sunny desert in which he plunged head-on.
After his wave of Pirates of the Caribbean films, director Gore Verbinski sought to focus on anything absolutely new and “small. “Rango’s production would turn out to be anything but, taking into account screenwriter John Logan’s multi-layered narrative, meticulous artistic taste and great vocal talents. The end result is a visually stunning view of the Western genre, which makes us want more animated films to dare to run the wonderful dangers that the Rank team has done.
