The thirteen reasons for Netflix
This year’s mainline television included ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise,” which suffered a scandalous closure over the summer; the CW teen mystery drama series “Riverdale”; and ABC’s new ratings reached “The Good Doctor”.
Topping the list was Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why,” a drama about a teenage girl who commits suicide and leaves notes for those she left behind and those who hurt her. The series sparked controversy for allegedly glorifying suicide, especially considering its vulnerable teenage audience. But Netflix said it helped promote a fair debate between parents and children.
