“The Tax Collector” and “The Secret Garden” showed a strong DEBUT on VOD on Friday as they took other paths to success. Set among rival gangs in Los Angeles, David Ayers’s “The Tax Collector” stars Shia LaBeouf and has ranked number one on Apple TV and FandangoNow, and at number five on Amazon (the era of spectrum mapping ended before it became available).” Garden, the fourth adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s ancient history of an orphan discovering a leak in a magical garden, occupied the first position on Amazon and the fourth on FandangoNow.

With a $6.99 worth of no premium, “The Tax Collector,” RLJE’s own-produced distributor who rented more than $2 million on the first weekend and performed in 129 movie theaters (mainly movie parks), where he raised $309,964. This is the first position among the new versions; according to the incomplete effects in Comscore, “The Empire Strikes Back” was number one overall. But Comscore does not show 34 of the theaters that performed “The Tax Collector”. We also don’t know how many “Empire” winnings it is missing, and we’ll never know, because, like other studios, Disney doesn’t generate profits from reissues.

Theaters have many problems, but consent decrees were one of them.

“The Tax Collector” has gained a lot of exposure as well as horrific reviews; it is ranked 220th in Metacritic. But with a well-known director, a star and a cinematic action sensation that appeals to the public at home, its projection is no real surprise. Your grip will be a greater measure of interest.

As an opening title, “The Tax Collector” was only held 3 days a week, followed by FandangoNow. It ranked first, even at its lowest price, on a chart that is classified according to cash spent and not transactions. This suggests a genuine uptick in initial interest. It’s also surprising that “The Secret Garden,” at $19.99, is number one on Amazon’s Family Circle platform, which is classified by transaction. With the lack of similar PVOD titles and the wisdom of your story, this can see a smart lifespan.

IFC, which has had several successes in the VOD/drive-in genre, has a much larger VOD transmission with ‘Made in Italy’, which landed in a position at the moment on Apple and stars Liam Neeson and his son Micheal Richardson. The IFC has also kept cinemas to a minimum.

“The Secret: Dare to Dream” (Lionsgate), opened for counterfeit purposes last week. Also priced at $19.99, it placed on 3 lists, adding number 2 on FandangoNow. Netflix made almost general title gains. Her original comedy “Work It”, directed through “Hello, My Name Is Doris” Laura Terruso, is focused on a dance festival in high school. The 1993 “Dennis the Menace” that is little remembered is number 2 right now; Do what you need with him.

A 7Park Data report on the transmission in July is interesting. According to a panel survey, it reports that ‘Hamilton’ at Disney ‘saw through 37.1% of viewers. Among the films, it is well ahead of the current position “The Old Guard” on Netflix (10.6%) or “Palm Springs” (Hulu) with 7.8%.

Theatres are open in a much larger number abroad. “Peninsula,” the sequel to “Train to Busan” (which generated $2 million in domestic revenue in 2018) opened at 48 Canadian locations for $118,647. That’s an average of $2,472 consistent with space. Please note that the most important recipes for Korean excursions come from Los Angeles. It is scheduled for release in the U.S. A week from Friday.

China is still an enigma. The country, with nearly 1.5 billion more people, recorded a gross total of $17 million in theaters, almost the same as last weekend. This week he saw the long-running openings of “1917” and “Ford v Ferrari”. Sam Mendes’ film ranked the most sensible with more than $5 million, while “FvF” dropped by just over $1 million. The most productive local films have not yet debuted.

Korea is still a good luck story. The country’s “Deliver Us from Evil” program raised $10.6 million, with overall effects of up to 75% since last weekend. Surprisingly, what can be achieved when the government took COVID-19 seriously and the public did the same?

(The existing indexed distributor is another one of the original version).
