The Wii port of No More Heroes could change soon

No More Heroes 3 is now in full development. The game was announced at E3 last year and has since been presented through author Suda51 in the most disguised way. Apart from the short preview of the game, the news of No More Heroes 3 has been a little difficult to locate recently.

Instead of the No More Heroes 3 news, the show’s enthusiasts may still have something to get excited about. As reported in Gematsu, the original No More Heroes, which was released for Wii and then targeted PS3 and Xbox 360, qualified for a Switch edition through the Taiwan Classification Board.

The original No More Heroes focuses on the “big loser” Travis Touchdown as he uses his variety of lightning katanas to “defeat 10 other bloodthirsty assassins” and climb to the most sensible rankings of the United Assassins Association. The 2007 game was a success due to writing, action and stylistic gameplay, along with the typical Suda51 style.

With new access to the series that is still expected this year, unless there are delays, it would make sense for Grasshopper and Suda to need the original back into the public domain. An imminent reissue/remastering would make a lot of sense, giving players like me who have never played the original the chance to get and watch the series before the release of No More Heroes 3.

Chances are, if the rumors are true and a port approaches, it will be announced on the upcoming Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. Nintendo has shown that more of those occasions will happen and with that and recent data on Persona five Scramble, it would not be unexpected to see one soon. In addition to the possible Switch port, the game is likely to reach PS4. In 2019, Sudafive1 alluded to the fact that, despite some difficulties, it sought to remaster the game for the console.
