The Worst TV Show Gets Another Chance at Redemption Before It’s Gone for Good

Updated 10/22/23. See below.

The worst TV show returns with its final six episodes, the first of which premieres on AMC this Sunday.

I’m referring, of course, to Fear The Walking Dead, which gets worse with each season. You think it’s hit an all-time low and then they ask you again.

Season 7, with Texas, a nuclear wasteland, and Strand as a dictator over a single office structure that everyone wanted, was truly terrible, and yet the first part of Season 8 managed to top it.

The only silver lining, and the only reason 8b could be better, is that Morgan finally left the screen at the end of the first six episodes. The second part of Season 8 will be mostly made up of original actors. . Kim Dickens is back and she, along with Colman Domingo and Ruben Blades, are the remaining OGs of Season 1.

Sadly, we also have Dwight and Sherry, who tragically lost their son in one of the most ridiculous subplots of Season 8 and then went their separate ways. They’ve been a terrible couple. I just wish they would come out together with Morgan so we can focus on Strand, Madison and Daniel.

Oh, and Troy Otto is back. Troy was a fantastic character in Season 3, when that exhibit had decent writing and managers who were able to tell a genuine story. I’m waiting in fear to see what they’re going to do with his character. Who, I suppose, was almost dead? We’ll see. Prepare!

Well, I’m doing my mid-season premiere review, but I had to share this little update ahead of time. In the first moments of the episode, the show’s creators rescued and recycled frame by frame from season 6. Episode 11 of the series.

The two scenes show the food ready: one in Teddy’s net and one in the new Strand net. The only challenge is that the photographs are identical, which is not only odd but likely a new low point for Fear The Walking Dead. Hilariously, once the food is ready in the new episode, Strand hands it to an older boy and, if it’s the omelet that’s cooking, it’s a few pieces of fried poultry and mashed potatoes.

I’ve made a side-by-side comparison video so you can see what it’s all about:

Also. Condemn. Funny.
