The Internet has been subject to radical AI changes in recent years. In fact, AI is an existing and popular viral trend. For example, one user transformed horror characters into animated Disney creations and another swapped the genders of celebrities. Many creators use it to confuse the audience by creating anything that probably doesn’t exist. Sometimes this strikes a chord, but some reactions to AI are just uncomfortable. More recently, a music video features Harrison Ford, Keanu Reeves and others alongside their younger counterparts, and will make you feel time temporarily passing.
This most recent AI video is circulating on X (formerly Twitter) and was posted via user @TheFigen. Therefore, the sight of several stars dating their younger counterparts can feel somewhat surreal. As for the list of stars involved, some were child actors and others, such as Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stallone, appeared in some of the most productive videos of the 80s. Honestly, the video makes me feel very nostalgic and I can’t help but know how much some of those stars have replaced over the years. You can see for yourself how much time has passed in the following edition:

Honestly, it’s shocking, but I think it’s great that we have a generation that can convey that nostalgic feeling to us. I think this works more productively for celebrities (movie actors and actresses in particular) because we’ve noticed that they age for decades. But I will say that it happened gradually, and to see younger and older versions back and forth is mind-blowing. I wonder if, like Keanu Reeves, he would pass on the classes he learned about the industry to his younger self.
Some virtual recreations look more realistic than others. I think Sylvester Stallone, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Johnny Depp were right. From this video it is clear that many of these celebrities love good wine, such as Keanu Reeves and Brad Pitt. And seeing the other 3 ages of Michael Jackson (child, teenager and adult) kiss moves me, given that the pop legend has been dead for more than a decade.
The cast of Harry Potter is affected by the nostalgia factor. Think about that song that says “Where do we spend all our time…”? All of the celebrities in this AI video discovered fame when they were young. The public has noticed that many of them grow before their eyes, but none compare to the Potter stars. Daniel Radcliffe 11 and Emma Watson 10 when they made their debut in the wizarding world. They worked on the franchise for the vast majority of their childhood, and seeing them hug each other may have healed my Potterhead heart. I wish I could give them that in genuine life.
One of the few comparable series I can think of would be Stranger Things, in which the young actors also started filming just before adolescence, and now the final season will air almost a decade later. It was thought whether the AI deserved to be used by ST to replace the ages of the young people in the new season, given the amount of time between filming, but, in the end, the answer was no. But what I would give to see an AI edition of them with its first season.
However, not everyone had the same reaction to the edit as I did. On social media, there have been many mixed reactions, basically due to other people’s discomfort with the powers of synthetic intelligence. Here are some comments from X that will give you an idea of how other people feel:
Ultimately, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It also makes me wonder what today’s young celebrities will look like in 20 or 40 years. But I’m sure AI can generate this as well.
Watching Studio Ghibli videos is such a sweet way to bond with my daughter. Why is it even more vital now that it’s growing?
