Major streamers are adding a ton of new videos this week. Companies like Netflix, Max, Hulu and Peacock offer their subscribers new videos to watch. The hardest component will be deciding which one to look at first, but that’s where we can help.
While the biggest streamers will be offering new content to their subscribers, the biggest release of the week is undoubtedly the first premium stream of Pixar’s “Inside Out 2. “This colorful sequel is on its way to becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time and sees the return of the eccentric organization of humanoid feelings that live in Riley’s head.
If you’re looking for something you watch as part of your pre-existing subscription, Netflix has a new coming-of-age comedy, Max has a Western epic fresh out of theaters, and Hulu has a captivating standalone film. Here are the best new videos you can watch this week and don’t check out our roundup of the best new TVs as well.
If you want to watch more videos this week, Netflix is about to lose one of its most productive videos (with an impressive 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes), and we also have top points on when you’re likely to stream “Deadpool. “”
Pixar’s drought was completely eased thanks to last year’s “Elementals” double-header and the colossal good fortune of “Inside Out 2. “Having grossed a whopping $1. 6 billion at the international box office so far (and still has some juice left in the tank), it’s now making its home debut, and the world’s parents are probably all eagerly awaiting to see this colorful animated film. available to keep your little ones out of trouble. But, in classic Pixar fashion, there’s also something for older audiences.
Taking a stand two years after 2015’s “Inside Out,” this sequel focuses on the set of feelings that live in the brain of a young woman named Riley. Now a teenager, Riley reports new feelings for the first time, adding anxiety, shame, envy, and, very French, boredom (aka boredom). These unpredictable feelings shake up the established order in Riley’s brain and can lead Riley down a dangerous path if joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust don’t find a way to work in combination with those new feelings.

Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in January, ahead of a very limited theatrical release in the spring, “Stress Positions” feels a bit out of place now in 2024. The film is set in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, namely It was a complicated time in modern human history, as we were confined to our homes and the idea of social contact with someone was almost stressful. While it’s a moment many would like to forget, first-time director Theda Hammel used this horrific setting. as inspiration for an uplifting comedy with just the right amount of drama.
Terry Goon (John Early) tries to comply with a strict quarantine at her ex-husband’s house in Brooklyn. Meanwhile, she also takes care of her 19-year-old nephew, a Moroccan-style named Bahlul (Qaher Harhash), who is recovering from a leg injury in an electric scooter accident. However, Terry’s purpose of keeping the apartment closed proves oddly difficult, as Bahlul’s arrival means that almost everyone Terry knows shows up to take a look.

Kevin Costner’s ambitious “Horizon: An American Saga” flopped from the start. The already-filmed “Chapter 2” was pulled from its planned August release last month after “Chapter 1” proved to be a general flop at the box office. The long-term of this Western franchise seems to be in a precarious position. For this reason, Max’s debut “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1” may prove pivotal. If, regardless, the film can be distributed now that it’s available on a popular streaming service, the release of “Chapter 2” could be accelerated, and maybe even the planned third and fourth installments will get the gentle green Array.
Costner’s fingerprints are all over this movie. The film icon not only stars in “Horizon: An American Saga-Chapter 1,” but he also directs and co-writes the script. Not to mention, he would have invested a significant amount of his cash into the project. Also starring Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi and Jena Malone, “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1” is set in the Wild West, the tumultuous American Civil War and lasts 181 minutes. Remember, this is only the first chapter, but the full story may never be told.

Every generation has its beloved high school comedy, from “American Pie” in the ’90s to “Superbad” in the 2000s (or “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” for those who were in school before the invention of the Internet), and Administrators Dave and John Chernin are quick to express their hope that “Incoming” will be that ubiquitous movie for today’s school-age generation. But don’t worry, even for fans like me, you may need to watch this feel-good coming-of-age comedy because its trailer promises big laughs and relatable grimaces.
As you’d expect from a top-notch school comedy, the stakes are low, but for the film’s teenage cast, everything at their age feels like a life-or-death situation. “Incoming” follows four freshmen as they seek to navigate the transition to the top school without wasting their dignity and social status. But to get there, they’ll have to face the biggest challenge they’ve ever faced: their first A-level school party. While the cast is often made up of new actors you may have never met before, Kaitlin Olson and Bobby Cannavale bring a dose of recognizable star power.

Don’t confuse this Peacock Original with the David Fincher mystery of the same call that hit Netflix last year (and made my list of my favorite videos of 2023), it’s more of an English-language remake of the 1989 action classic. the same call. This edition of “The Killer” is directed by director John Woo and updates the story, adding the transfer of the action from Hong Kong to Paris, among other changes.
The smaller main points would possibly have been replaced a bit, but the main lines remain the same. “The Killer” follows an elite assassin named Zee (Nathalie Emmanuel), known in the Parisian underworld as the Queen of the Dead. But when Zee refuses to kill a young blind woman in a nightclub, this compassionate choice has serious consequences. With her allies turning against her and a police investigator (Omar Sy) going around in circles, Zee finds herself on a collision course with her facts beyond her. ‘d’s signature thrilling action and a narrative full of twists and turns.
