Our global is polluted through universal sound. Whether it’s cars passing in front of your apartment window or your kids running at full speed, a moment of silence is almost to locate. The Shure AONIC 50 offers just that: silence. Let’s see how this noise-cancelling headset is the most productive in its elegance and how the AONIC 50 deserves its award.

Shure is a former audio company and did not fall asleep on its laurels when creating the AONIC 50; everything from accessories to headband seams reflects high-quality know-how. Detachable leather-lined pads are easy to white and update when needed. The plastic exterior may seem to contradict the exorbitant price, however, it is well finished and helps keep things soft, which can’t be overstated when dressed with headphones and glasses.

You can transfer between listening modes (ANC enabled/disabled and ambient listening), adjust volume, playback, access Google Assistant or Siri and turn the headset on or off from the right earbud. S are just buttons, there are no capacitive touch panels here. It probably wouldn’t sound like avant-garde, but I liked this arrangement: it was simple for me to run blindly while walking, even with thin gloves.

These headphones are as portable as those of direct competition, like the Sony WH-1000XM3, but you can turn Shure’s headphones to flatten them. While I prefer a more flexible structure with many tactics to twist a headset for storage, Shure’s design reduces the number of possible breakpoints.

SoundGuys logged 19 hours and 46 minutes of reading its Shure AONIC 50 exam. This was recorded from a single rate with noise relief set to high. Although about 20 hours of listening is more than enough in maximum cases, this is inadequate compared to the Sony WH-1000XM3 and Bose Headphones 700: the first lasted 24 hours and the time 21 hours before it ran out. To qualify the headset, connect it to the included USB-C cable, a full rate takes approximately 3 hours depending on your power source.

I can’t blame you for thinking that headphone apps are useless, but the ShurePlus Play app is worth downloading. Allows you to adjust the noise relief and intensity of the relays, check battery levels, get firmware updates and more. Shure has even incorporated a granular equalization system. You can create your own signature sound or choose from a handful of presets based on your musical preferences.

Shure’s ANC generation outperforms the competition a mile away from the country. Low-frequency sounds are dimmed to sound as loud as they would otherwise, while mid-range sounds (e.g. speaking roommates) become 4 times quieter. Unusually noisy air conditioning equipment is not up to the noise relief capabilities of Shure AONIC 50. Of course, the Sony WH-1000XM3 slightly reduces mid-range sounds (200Hz-3kHz), but the AONIC 50 is the most productive selection for ordinary travelers.

This is another category in which Shure AONIC 50 shines because aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low latency, AAC and LDAC are compatible with those headphones. No matter which source device you’re streaming from, enjoy high-quality sound with virtually no audio-visual delays or latency between commands.

The Class 1 Bluetooth 5.0 firmware is located in the operating center of this headset, contributing to extended battery life and stellar connection force within a range of 10 meters. Multipoint Bluetooth is also supported here, which means you can connect two devices at once to the Shure AONIC 50. I used it every day testing those headphones to keep one ear on incoming phone calls and the other on desktop notifications.

Shure has been in the audio game for decades and knows how to create a nice and flexible sound. Sound engineers have slightly higher frequencies than the upper bass, allowing the voices to stand out from the accompanying instruments. I enjoyed this sweet blow listening to poignant singers like Brittany Howard and the late Bill Withers. No matter what’s in your music library, your favorite songs will be transparent and accurate with those 50mm dynamic controllers. Nothing compares to the sound of a compromised external microphone; However, the Shure microphone formula is perfect and will allow you to make any professional call. The background noise was misfiltered with the original firmware (0.4.1), but has since advanced with the arrival of firmware edition 0.4.9.

Shure manufactures some of the world’s microphones, and the AONIC 50 micro formula is no exception.

The company disagrees with the low vocal frequencies to combat the “proximity effect”. Simply put, it’s when the bass notes are amplified and distorted when the speaker gets too close to the microphone. As the headphones rest on your head, you’re too close. Reducing sensitivity to low frequencies improves speech intelligibility. If there’s a corporate microphone, you deserve to bet on your Shure, the world’s most iconic voice microphone manufacturer.

Shure AONIC 50 Microphone Demonstration (firmware 0.4.9):

What proved problematic, even after the upgrade, was the way the handset transmitted the high-pitched background noise. I was on the phone with my mom while my roommate was doing the dishes five yards away, and my mom couldn’t. I wasn’t doing the dishes. Be sure to take your calls in a relatively quiet environment.

Absolutely, the Shure AONIC 50 are my favorite noise-cancelling headphones to this day. They are especially comfortable and meet all requirements related to comfort, sound quality and ANC performance. These will surely serve you well for years and years, thanks to the stellar structure and replaceable parts. The value made me lose my sight, however, quality headphones are worth it if you reverse them.

Many others will compare the Shure AONIC 50 with the Sony WH-1000XM3 and Bose Headphones 700. As for the latter, I will save you time and lose it: buy the Shure AONIC 50; they have the same value and outperform The Bose ANC headset in almost every aspect.

Choosing between Shure and Sony is a little more difficult, because Sony headphones offer 90% of the functionality for $100 less. To make it even more attractive: you will enter promotion at an even greater discount. The WH-1000XM3 will likely be even more affordable once the Sony WH-1000XM4 is officially released.

If you don’t catch a lot of flights and have a tendency not to spend too much time on subway platforms, the Sony WH-1000XM3 is priced higher. In fact, Sony’s flagship noise-cancelling headphones are priced higher for the vast majority of listeners. It is the ones who need the absolutely more productive ANC that get the Shure AONIC 50.
