Twitter is taking steps to oppose the follow-up to the coronavirus conspiracy film Plandemic, which went viral this year. The video has led to lies about COVID-19 and vaccines. It has been viewed tens of millions of times online.
The most recent film, Plandemic: Endoctornation, is hosted on the website FreedomPlatform.tv. According to Twitter, the video URL is marked as “unsafe” on the platform. If a user searches for the link on Twitter, they will get a “Know the Facts” precautionary tag, which promotes a link to the Coronavirus data page of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Unlike Facebook, which absolutely blocks links to the social network’s video, Twitter will allow users to post the domain. According to a corporate spokesman, he notes that many of his users demystify the claims in the video and only come with the context link, which reported the resolution to authorize the publication of the URL.
With respect to the Plandemic suite express clips posted on Twitter, the company will decide which of them will record on a case-by-case basis. The individual clip itself deserves to violate the service’s misinformation policies so that steps can be taken to remove it.
