August 12, 2020 – Shadow, Ontario
As the world increasingly prioritizes blank expansion and seeks opportunities for oil-based fuels, two rural organizations in southwest Ontario are providing whiter renewable biofuel solutions. These manufacturers manufacture the region’s economy and source chain by supplying local raw fabrics and waste fats to create blank renewable energy while creating jobs in rural communities.
Today, Parliamentary Secretary Kate Young, on behalf of the Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages (FedDev Ontario), announced a total investment of $10 million from FedDev Ontario for the expansion and expansion of two renewable fuel manufacturers in the region. : FORGE Hydrocarbons and IGPC Ethanol Inc.
FORGE Hydrocarbons uses the patented generation of lipids and hydrocarbons, developed through Dr. David Bressler, to produce renewable diesel from waste fats and oils. With a $5 million refundable contribution from FedDev Ontario, the company will get equipment, automate processes, and identify a facility in Shadow, Ontario. FORGE will increase biofuel production from a capacity of 200,000 liters to 28 million liters according to the year, moving to advertising levels. Fuels produced through the complex generation of FORGE are a blank option for petroleum-based fuels and are compatible with existing engines and infrastructure. This target generation allocation is expected to reduce greenhouse fuel emissions by more than 70% compared to classic oil-based fuels. Through this assignment, FORGE Hydrocarbons will create 38 jobs in Shadow.
IGPC Ethanol Inc. is a renewable fuel joint venture founded in Aylmer that creates a sustainable expansion by generating ethanol from maize. Ethanol offers an eco-friendly option to classic gas, as cars that use gas-combined ethanol or ethanol emit fewer greenhouse gases than those using gas alone. Since its inception, IGPC Ethanol Inc. has produced 180 to 200 million liters of ethanol from maize consistent with the year at its production plant. It also manufactures co-products, adding distillery cereals (used as an element in animal feed) and corn oil (used in the production of biodiesel and as an animal feed element). In 2018, the cooconsistente with the drink began to accentuate the oconsistente with the actions to succeed in new markets, obtaining appliances and doubling its production of ethanol to 380 million liters consistent with the year. As an added benefit, IGPC Ethanol now has the ability to capture and sell 280,000 tons of carbon dioxide according to the year for choice use, as in the food and beverage processing industry, offering further economic expansion for the company. A $5 million FedDev Ontario refundable contribution supported the project, which created 19 professional jobs in Aylmer.
These projects create professional jobs, the biochemical innovation sector in southwest Ontario and foster a healthier environment.
“Both projects are based on our region’s reputation as a strong contributor to innovation in the petrochemical sector. As the world continues to seek clearer and more cost-effective biochemicals, cutting-edge responses such as FORGE’s hydrocarbon lipid generation and THAT of IGPC Ethanol Inc. Corn-based ethanol production strategies continue to build on the region’s strength as an actor in energy production, white technologies, while creating jobs in rural areas of southwest Ontario.
– Kate Young, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages (FedDev Ontario)
“Beyond the demanding situations we face with the pandemic lately, the climate crisis remains one of the most demanding vital situations of our time. Investments like these demonstrate our past government’s view that the economy and the environment go hand in hand and make Canada a coal-neutral economy until 2050. These projects mean new jobs in rural communities and new tactics to reduce greenhouse gases and mitigate climate change.”
– The Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister for Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister of the Federal Agency for Southern Ontario Economic Development
“With our newly expanded production capacity, IGPC Ethanol Inc. is making a significant contribution to Ontario’s renewable energy industry and agricultural sectors, generating 380 million litres in line with the year of high-octane fuel grade ethanol and 340,000 tons of high-protein distillery grains of 36 million ontario corn bushels. We are very grateful for the money provided through FedDev Ontario. This has allowed us to create an incredibly cost-effective facility that generates fuel that has 60% less emissions than gasoline.
– Kevin Norton, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of IGPC Ethanol Inc.
“FORGE is incredibly pleased to have this investment from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. FedDev Ontario’s investment not only is charged to the validation gained to date for LTH technology, but also provides a monetary touch to FORGE’s marketing path as we begin to build our facilities and increase professional work in Ontario’s renewable energy sector.
– Tim Haig, CEO of FORGE Hydrocarbons
The biodiesel market is expected to grow from $25 billion in 2019 to $44 billion through 2025.
FORGE will paint in partnership with World Energy, which will provide the site for assignment, advice, raw fabrics for biofuel production, market and sales facilitation. In addition to FedDev Ontario’s refundable contribution, FORGE Hydrocarbons earned $25.6 million from personal investors.
IGPC Ethanol Inc. is wholly owned by Integrated Grain Processors Co-operative Inc., one of Ontario’s largest agricultural cooperatives. FedDev Ontario’s refundable contribution to the CFPI is for an overall allocation fee of more than $112 million, at more than $107 million in additional investments.
FedDev Ontario recognizes the important role that rural communities play in the region’s economy, as evidenced by an initial allocation of $100 million for projects that stimulate innovation and expansion in rural communities.
FedDev Ontario has invested more than $123 million in 60 blank generation projects since 2015.
