Who’s John Bronco? He is a world-class runner, a rodeo star, a sex symbol and a mythical pitcher whose face is immediately recognized in the Ford Bronco and countless products, and he is also Walton Goggins and never existed.

But that shouldn’t stop inflating his legend, as the new short film “John Bronco” wants. The fake documentary is the newest through Jake Szymanski, the director who spoke of similar fake sports legends in the films “Tour of Pharmacy” and “7 Days in Hell”.

“John Bronco” is, however, some other kind of fake sports icon, a 1966 legend whose jingle has triple platinum and can be heard in advertisements for his own cologne, breakfast cereals, video games, action dolls and more. The film describes it as “the very embodiment of the American dream, that is, until everything collapses.”
