Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will reportedly not be separating its streaming and studio businesses from its linear TV channels.
According to the Financial Times, CEO David Zaslav and CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels weighed “all options” to prevent the company’s percentage price from falling. They made the decision that the split would be the “nuclear option. “
The report adds that Zaslav and Widedenfels concluded that while the concept “sounds compelling on paper,” it would “create very significant operational challenges. “
One of the most demanding situations would be deciding how to divide the company’s sports rights deals between linear TV and streaming.
