LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has split with a real estate development company on plans to build a new production studio in Las Vegas.

A family source with the progressions showed in News 3 that WBD no longer works with Birtcher’s progression in California in the project.

The media and entertainment corporation is still deciding to build its Nevada studio and vetting potential new partners, the source said.

WBD and Birtcher Development published a strong registration in August saying that they would register at the UNLV in Nevada Studios at Harry Reid Rainch University.

Nevada Studios is described as the centerpiece of a film tax incentive program expected to be introduced in the state’s legislative session this year. WBD and Birtcher said in August that it would serve as the primary studio complex for the campus and feature full-service film and television studios.

WBD also said it would commit at least $8.5 billion in production spending if the studios came to fruition.

The Nevada Independent first reported on the split between WBD and Birtcher.

When contacted for comment, Warner Bros. Discovery News 3 with the following statement:

News contacted a Birtcher Development spokesman to comment.

Sony Pictures partners with Howard Hughes Corp. for the movie studio near Flamingo Road and Town Center Drive in Summerlin. This study also depends on the tax incentive program this year.
