It turns out that WB Interactive isn’t going anywhere after all.

It has been widely reported that parent company AT-T is looking to sell Warner Media’s video game department to pay off its debt. In order to raise about $4 billion for WB Interactive, this deal could have a massive effect on some high-level franchises, as WB Interactive is the editor behind the Mortal Kombat and Batman games. However, an agreement may not be reached, as the latest Update by Warner Media suggests that the company’s video game department is not going anywhere.

Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar sent a public service announcement to all workers about the company’s plans for the future, which was shared on Warner Media’s official website. In the long message, Kilar says: “Warner Bros. Interactive remains a component of the Studios and Networks group.”

Following reports that WB Interactive is on sale, other reports indicated that Microsoft, Blizzard, and Take-Two were among the most likely to make the acquisition. Warner Media did not make a percentage of the negotiations in which they had been involved, nor the degree to which they had reached an agreement.

With the Mortal Kombat series, as well as the Batman franchise and Middle-earth titles under its banner, WB Interactive’s assets would be a genuine asset. As Sony and Microsoft prepare for the next generation, many have speculated that Phil Spencer and his company would make a complicated effort for interactive WB. However, for the time being, WB Interactive is stuck with AT-T.

In the world of WB Interactive, developer Rocksteady recently unveiled his next project, a game about suicide Squad. More main points are expected at the end of August at the DC FanDome event. For the latest WB Interactive news, stay with us here at Shacknews.
