Watch Daniel Kaluuya play Black Panther frontman Fred Hampton in the amazing trailer for Judas and the Black Messiah.

Warner Bros. has the official trailer for Judas and the Black Messiah, a biographical film about the assassination of Black Panther Party leader Fred Hampton.

Directed through Shaka King and produced through Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler, the film stars Oscar-nominated actor Daniel Kaluuya as Hampton, president of the Black Panther Party’s Illinois bankruptcy. Kaluuya will meet with his Get Out co-star Lakieth Stanfield, while Stanfield plays William O’Neal, the FBI informant whose betrayal leads to Hampton’s death.

Based on real events, O’Neal receives a settlement through the FBI while he is sentenced to prison. They’ll let him walk freely if he infiltrates the Black Panthers and provides data on Hampton; accepts the deal.

Ashton Sanders, Lil Rel Howery, Jesse Plemons and Martin Sheen are also featured. The trailer doesn’t show a new percentage date but assures the audience that they will be able to see Judas and the Black Messiah ”Only in theaters’ over the course of 2021.
