A 74-year-old woman was struck and killed Saturday by a motor vehicle in Marlboro, Vermont, police said.
Authorities called the victim Constance J. Vrooman of Sharon Springs, New York.
At 11:03 a. m. , police received several 911 calls reporting a pedestrian accident on VT-9 near the Hogback Mountain overlook, according to a statement from the Vermont State Police.
The lookout, connected to the Hogback Mountain Country Store, increases to 2250 feet on Route 9, United States.
Officers responded to the scene, with assistance from the Deerfield Valley emergency facility and the Marlboro Fire Department, where a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado struck the pedestrian, he said.
Vrooman died at the scene, authorities said. The twist of fate is still under investigation.
